Edmund Hampton Stewart was born on 25 December 1855 at Sussex County, Virginia, USA, as listed on his death certificate. However, he was also listed as being nine months old in the 1860 census on 20 Aug 1860 which would make an alternate birthday of Nov 1859.1,2 He was the son of John E. Stewart and Susan G.P. Bolling.
Edmund Hampton Stewart married Fannie B Carraway, daughter of James Edward Carraway and Mary Hannah Crowder, circa 1920.
Edmund Hampton Stewart was a carpenter in 1931.1 At the time of the auto accident that claimed the life of their daughter, Catherine Stewart in 1934, Edmund Hampton Stewart and Fannie B Carraway were residing at Stop 58, Richmond-Petersburg turnpike in Chesterfield County, Virginia, USA.3
Edmund Hampton Stewart died on 9 February 1936 at Eastern State Hospital, Williamsburg, James City County, Virginia, USA, at age 80 . His cause of death was listed as cardio-vascular-renal. The secondary cause was senile dementia. The doctor had been seeing him from 19 Aug 1931 to 9 February 1936. The informant was the patient and commitment papers.

I could not find him in the 1910 and 1920 census records in Sussex County searching under Stuart or Stewart
His wife and daughter were buried on "The Farm". It was originally his father's property, now (in 1930) his sister's land.
