Annie M. Chappell is another enigma. I originally thought her name was Annie Mason, but her daughter's social security application listed her mother's name as: Annie Mason Chappell. It is also possible that Annie was married previously.
2 Anna W Mason was born in October 1871 at Virginia, USA, Birth month, year, state was listed in the 1900 US Census.3 Anna W Mason married Charles Randolph Stewart, son of John E. Stewart and Susan G.P. Bolling, in 1896. She was listed as having been married four years in the 1900 US Census.3
Sota sent a letter to Anna W Mason Stewart on 22 June 1904 from Waldemar, Virginia, USA.4 The letter from Anna W Mason Stewart to an unknown person read as follows:
Waldemar, VA

Mrs. C.R. Stewart
Aivland PO, Sussex Co, VA
Dear Annie,
I got home all right. When I opened my satchel I found that I had lost my money $1.00 in greenbacks. Please see if you can find it. I can’t see how or where I misplaced it.
Please see if you can find it. I am and all are well. Write soon.
Lovingly,
Sota
